There once was a girl
who fell in a well
and lived off crickets and worms.
For many a year
she cried many tears
and slowly was eaten by germs.
“Life isn’t fair!”
she screamed up the well
but no one above her could hear.
“It’s not so bad!”
a spider replied
and the crickets and worms gave a cheer.
“I don’t want to live
the rest of my life
in a deep dank pit full of bugs!”
“Listen little girl,
this is where you belong
so go on and give us a hug.”
For the rest of her life,
the girl saw no light
and quietly died in the hole.
She was missed by the bugs,
the worms, and a slug
but nobody else, not a soul.
